New Mexico State Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash involving a semi-truck. The crash happened on southbound U.S 285 Wednesday around 7:30 a.m. between Roswell and Artesia.
The victim was identified as 23-year-old Luis Alberto Borunda of Roswell.
Officials believe a Peterbilt rear-ended a Chevrolet pickup, causing the Chevrolet to travel off the road. The Chevrolet crashed and rolled over after the collision.
Borunda sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additional information regarding the crash is currently unavailable. An investigation into the crash is under review.
