23-year-old Juan Ayala killed in a crash on Newhope Street (Westminster, CA)

On Saturday, 23-years-old Juan Ayala, a resident of Santa Ana, lost his life in a high speed crash on Newhope Street.

The incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of McFadden Avenue. According to reports, Ayala’s silver sedan crashed into a parked car at a very high rate of speed. The impact triggered a chain reaction of parked car crashes. On arrival, first responders declared Ayala deceased.

“At this point, we have a witness who identified the driver of a hit and run in Santa Ana,” Westminster police Sgt. Phoung Phan stated. That accident took place about two miles away from the second crash scene. As per police, an eyewitness to the hit-and-run crash followed the driver and watched him slam into the other vehicles.

The incident remains under active review.
