The Gilbert Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Monday afternoon. The accident happened close to Williams Field Road and Val Vista Drive at around 1:30 p.m.
According to investigators, Lucinda Begay, 49, was making a left turn in her car when her vehicle collided with Bartlett’s motorbike as it was traveling down Williams Field Road.
Christopher Bartlett, age 23, was rushed to the hospital by emergency personnel, where he was later pronounced dead after succumbing to his injuries.
Begay was detained and investigated for DUI. The accusations against her have not been made public.
Williams Field Road was blocked off while police conducted their fatal crash investigation, but it was soon reopened.
