The Lubbock Police Department reported a motorcycle accident in Lubbock, Texas, on March 29. The crash occurred at 2:08 a.m. at the intersection of 45th Street and Slide Road.
According to the authorities, two individuals lost their lives in the accident. The victims were identified as Cheyanne Perez, 23, and Zackery Lowe, 31. Lowe was travelling south on a motorcycle with Perez as a passenger in the 4600 block of Slide Road. At the same time, a car driven by Joshua Mendez, 23, was heading north and collided with the motorcycle. Both Perez and Lowe were fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing. Mendez sustained minor injuries. He was subsequently arrested on charges of DWI and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon and was held at the Lubbock County Detention Center.
