A tragic motor vehicle accident unfolded on Friday morning on the northbound I-15 just north of Rainbow Canyon Road, as a 23-year-old Murrieta woman, Ariel Bridgeman, was struck and killed, reported California Highway Patrol.
Bridgeman’s vehicle veered to the right for unknown reasons, colliding with an embankment and then returning to the freeway in a single-car crash. She exited her vehicle and was standing in the #2 lane when she was struck by another driver.
The collision resulted in three additional crashes, with one person sustaining minor injuries.
The driver who struck Bridgeman remained at the fatal crash, and DUI was not suspected.
Bridgeman’s identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
