The Irvine Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon. The accident occurred near Irvine Center Drive and Bake Parkway at around 2:30 p.m.
According to the officials, a motorcycle and a car were involved in the collision. A Yamaha motorcycle was headed down the road when it crashed into a grey GMC Canyon crew cab pickup truck.
The driver of the motorcycle was critically injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The officials have since identified him as 23-year-old Andres Osegueda.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. The officials have confirmed that drugs and alcohol did not play a role in the collision.
