The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a multi-vehicle accident in Grimes County on Thursday. The accident occurred on State Highway 249 at around 9:50 a.m.
According to the officials, three vehicles were involved in the collision. A 2000 International 18-wheeler was headed south on the highway while a 2021 Ford F250 was headed north. The Ford veered onto the southbound lanes which caused it to crash into the 18-wheeler.
The 18-wheeler in turn went into the northbound lanes where it crashed into a 2020 BMW X5 head-on. The driver of the BMW was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 22-year-old Syndey Arthur.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. There are no other details available.
