The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Santa Barbara on Saturday. The accident occurred on Highway 154, west of San Antonia Creek Road at around 1:24 a.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision. A 2020 Nissan Altima and a 2016 Inifiniti QX60 crashed into each other. The Nissan was headed west when it crossed into the oncoming lane and crashed into the Infiniti.
The driver of the Nissan was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified the victim as 22-year-old Robert Michaelius Brown.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
