According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Milam County on Tuesday. The crash happened on FM 485, just east of Yarrelton at around 6:30 a.m.
According to the investigators, a 2016 Chevrolet 2500 pickup and a 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage were involved in the collision. The Mirage driver traveling westbound tried to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone and veered into the pickup.
22-Year-Old Mallory Regina Shaw was identified as the driver of the Mirage who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead.
The accident is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
