In the early hours of Saturday morning, a tragic single-vehicle crash claimed the life of 22-year-old Kody Pounds of Emory. According to a Texas DPS report, Pounds was driving west on State Highway 64, approximately two miles northwest of Myrtle Springs, around 1:10 a.m.
The vehicle veered off the road, entering the southwest ditch, and collided with a tree on the opposite side of a private driveway. Regrettably, Pounds was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fatal crash resulted in no other reported injuries. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the circumstances surrounding the motor vehicle accident.
