In the early hours of Saturday, a fatal crash occurred on State Highway 6 South, prompting an investigation by Houston police. The victim, a 22-year-old male pedestrian, tragically lost his life in the incident.

His identity is being withheld until his family is notified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. According to officials from the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division, the young man was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a northbound silver Toyota Highlander.

The impact proved fatal, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, also a 22-year-old male, cooperated with authorities and showed no signs of impairment. Following questioning, he was released. The investigation into the circumstances of this heartbreaking crash remains ongoing.
