Authorities identified 22-year-old Kerriel Joseph as the victim who was killed after a rear-end collision late Wednesday in Baton Rouge.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place on I-12. The investigation reports showed that Joseph was a passenger in the front seat of a 2014 Hyundai Elantra that had stopped on the left shoulder of I-12 West just before it merges with I-10 at about 11:30 p.m.
At that point of time, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado crashed into the back of the car. Kerriel Joseph was pronounced dead at the scene. It is unknown if the incident caused any other injuries. No charges have been filed. No further details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
