According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Selma on Saturday. The crash happened in the 15400 block of Interstate 35 North at around 11:45 p.m.
According to the investigators, an unknown vehicle and a 22-year-old were involved in the collision. The officials stated that the driver of the unknown vehicle struck another vehicle and hit the inside median.
A 22-year-old Joseph Banales was identified as the unknown driver who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
