The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported a motor vehicle accident in Gaines County on March 31. The crash took place at the intersection of FM 1757 and CR 243 around 4:50 a.m.

According to the authorities, 22-year-old Javier Beltron of Hobbs was travelling eastbound on FM 1757 when his vehicle veered into a ditch, causing it to go airborne and subsequently roll over. As a result, the victim was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs played any role in the collision. No other details are available at the moment.
