According to the Rusk County Police Department, a fatal crash was reported on Sunday morning. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred on State Highway 42 south of Kilgore.
The deceased person was identified as 22-year-old Fernando Baldazo. Baldazo, who was traveling on his 2010 Ford F-150 drifted off the road and attempted to overcorrect his vehicle back on the road. He however struck a tree.
Baldazo was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. Other insights into the collision have not been revealed yet. The cause of the accident remains unknown.
The crash continues to be investigated by the RCPD.
