22-year-old Bryan Lopez-Islas died after a car crash on early Thanksgiving morning (Brentwood, CA)

The Contra Costa County coroner identified 22-year-old Bryan Lopez-Islas, of Vallejo, as the man who lost his life following a traffic accident on early Thanksgiving morning.

Lopez-Islas was one of at least three people who was killed on a Bay Area highway that day, in crashes that extended from Belmont to Napa. He was involved in a car crash that happened on Vasco Road, south of Walnut Boulevard, near Brentwood at around 6 a.m. The investigation reports showed that his Toyota Corolla crashed into a Ford F-350.

However, it is unknown which of the vehicles went into the opposing lane, causing the fatal accident. The driver of the Ford sustained major injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Lopez-Islas was declared dead at the scene while his passenger incurred minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. No other details are available.

An investigation is continuing.
