The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident that killed a 22-year-old man. The victim has since been identified by the Riverside County Coroner as Bernardo Fajardo of Indio in Banning.
Roughly at 2:30 a.m., Fajardo was driving a vehicle on the westbound I-10. he lost control and crashed into a big rig. The force of the collision caused the first vehicle to burst into flames. Fajardo was fatally injured and was pronounced dead.
The officials have not disclosed any information about the driver of the big rig. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
