A tragic multi-vehicle accident unfolded in the Turlock area on Sunday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old woman and the arrest of a 17-year-old driver for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The fatal crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. at Fulkerth Road and Faith Home Road, involving a 2013 Buick sedan and a 2004 GMC pickup towing a cattle trailer. Preliminary investigations revealed that the teen driver ran a stop sign, colliding with the cattle trailer as the pickup attempted a turn.
Sadly, the passenger in the Buick, a woman from Modesto, was fatally injured. The 17-year-old driver sustained moderate injuries and was arrested, while the occupants of the pickup escaped unharmed. The identity of the deceased woman is withheld pending notification of her next of kin.
