21-Year-Old Ryan Schaum Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Spokane (Spokane, WA)

The Spokane Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Thursday evening. The accident happened on US Highway 395 at around 6:10 p.m.

According to a Washington State Patrol news release, Spokane resident Ryan Schaum,21 was traveling south on U.S. Highway 395 when he collided with a car that was turning left onto Regina Road. 

Schaum was thrown from the motorbike while wearing a helmet and incurred fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Sophia Smithson, 84, of Spokane, the driver of the other vehicle, was taken to MultiCare Deaconess Hospital.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials. Additional details regarding the crash are not available currently.
