According to the police department, a pedestrian crash that occurred in Cobb County resulted in the death of 21-year-old Maria Perez Gonzales on Saturday.
When Gonzales was walking on Austell Road, near Hicks Road, she was initially struck by a Ford. Consecutively, she was again struck by another vehicle. As a result, Gonzales was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the moment. The identity of the vehicles that struck Gonzales is unknown.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
