According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, a fatal crash was reported last week in Shafter. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the multi-vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred at East Lerdo Highway and Driver Road. Two vehicles collided with one another. The vehicles subsequently burst into flames.
One person identified as 21-year-old Luis Andree Gallegos was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The officials have not reported if others were injured in the collision.
Insights pertaining to what caused the collision remain unknown. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
The crash continues to be investigated by the KCSO.
