A fatal crash occurred on Wednesday night at Lakeside Drive and I-40, involving two racing sports cars and a semi-truck. The black Ford Mustang and green Chevy Camaro were racing side-by-side on Lakeside.
They collided with the trailer of the semi as it pulled out of a Toot ‘n Totum parking lot. Both cars became wedged underneath the trailer. The driver of the Mustang, identified as 21-year-old Juan Jose Flores, Jr., was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Camaro suffered minor injuries.
The multi-vehicle accident is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
