Tragedy struck on Saturday, Feb. 24, as 21-year-old Jordie Jude Ramirez from Hobbs, New Mexico, lost his life in a single-vehicle crash in Hudspeth County. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the motor vehicle accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. along U.S. 62, approximately 4 miles east of Cornudas.
Reports indicate that Ramirez was driving a Ford F-150 westbound on U.S. 62 when one of his tires experienced a sudden blowout, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. Subsequently, the truck veered off the road and rolled over.
Despite efforts to save him, Ramirez succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a hospital in El Paso. The DPS continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
