According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Wednesday in San Jose. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the hit-and-run accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred east on Blossom Hill Road. A 2008 Nissan sedan collided with a white 2013 Hyundai sedan. The driver of the Nissan was identified as 21-year-old April Zoglauer, a pregnant woman.
Zoglauer was immediately transported to the hospital sustaining serious injuries. She was later pronounced dead after successfully delivering her child. Two unknown people from the Hyundai fled from the scene of the wreck.
Further insights into the accident are yet to be released. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
