The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Riverside County on Wednesday. The accident occurred on Dillon Road, near Fantasy Springs Resort Casino at around 9 p.m.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. A Nissan Sentra was headed west on the road when the driver lost control. This caused the vehicle to veer to the right before crashing into a guard rail and flipping over into the canal.
The driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified her as 20-year-old Yennifer Mayen-Jimenez. There were no other people present in the vehicle.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. There are no other details available.
