The California State Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in the early morning. The crash happened close to Fairview St at around 4 a.m.
According to the CHP, 38-year-old Michael Messer was operating his truck eastbound on Ellis Street. On her way to work, a 20-year-old woman was traveling in the west.
Once more, the male driver was going the wrong way and collided with the Chevy Malibu.
The young lady was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name and identity have not been made public yet. Messer suffered severe injuries and was not restrained by a seatbelt.
After being taken to a hospital in Fresno, he was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Alcohol containers and other drug paraphernalia were in the car, according to Police. The fatal crash is being investigated by the police.
