The Sahuarita Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Saturday morning. A white Cadillac sedan and a red Ford F150 pickup truck collided at around midnight near East Quail Crossing Boulevard and South Old Nogales Highway.
Sahuarita police reported that a man, 20-year-old Tomas Ayala was inside the Cadillac when it was discovered completely engulfed in flames. He had incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 24-year-old man later identified as Camron Ortega was spotted next to the pickup truck and fled, according to a witness who called the police. Later, Ortega was located and taken to a nearby hospital.
Police claimed that he displayed signs of impairment. According to police, Ortega was detained on suspicion of second-degree murder, DUI, and fleeing the scene of a fatal crash.
