The Sahuarita Police Department reported a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday. The accident occurred on South Old Nogales Highway at around 12:07 a.m.
According to the officials, two vehicles – a red Ford F150 pickup and a white Cadillac sedan – were involved in the collision. The events leading up to the collision are not yet known at this time.
The sedan was fully engulfed in flames by the time the officials came. The pickup was unoccupied.
The occupant of the sedan incurred fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been declared at this time.
The officials caught and arrested the driver of the pickup on the counts of driving under the influence and second-degree murder.
The investigation into the fatal accident is still ongoing.
