On early Saturday morning, a 20-year-old man lost his life following a fiery crash in Santa Maria.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of Miller Street and Betteravia Road at about 1 a.m. after getting reports of a single-vehicle accident. The early reports showed that the vehicle was traveling southbound on Miller when it struck the curb multiple times before drifting off the road where it crashed into a light pole and tree.
The vehicle eventually landed on the west curb of Miller Street just north of Betteravia Road and got engulfed in flames. The man, from Santa Maria, suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. It is unknown if any other vehicles was involved in the crash. No additional information has been provided.
An investigation is continuing.
