Authorities identified 20-year-old Donavan Clinard as the young man who was killed in a car crash near Cedar Hill on late Sunday.
As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle accident took place in a sharp (S) curve on a dark stretch of Kinneys Rd between the Pitt Rd/Richard Rd split and Gabriel Rd just before midnight. Donavan Clinard, 20, a resident of Springfield, lost his life in the crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Clinard, driving a 2016 Ford Mustang, was heading West on Kinneys Rd when he could not negotiate a (right) curve. Then, the vehicle veered off the road, traveling an estimated 400 feet through a grass embankment, and flipped multiple times.
Clinard was thrown from his car due to the impact. The vehicle continued until it struck a utility pole. Clinard was declared deceased at the scene the officials. Reports further confirmed that Clinard was not wearing safety restraints at the time of the accident.
Reports did not mention that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. The Adams Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency all immediately responded to the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
