20-Year-Old Ashlyn Stroud Killed In A Multi-Vehicle Accident In Skagit County (Skagit County, WA)

A suspected case of drunk driving led to a fatal crash in Skagit County, claiming the life of a 20-year-old Arlington resident. She was later identified as Ashlyn Stroud. The multi-vehicle accident occurred around 10 p.m. on Friday. 

An Oak Harbor man, 56-year-old McArthur Jackson, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado north on Highway 9. Stroud was travelling south in a 2020 Jeep Compass near Bassett Road. The Chevy crossed the centre line, resulting in a head-on collision with the Jeep.

Both vehicles were severely damaged. Stroud was critically injured and was initially taken to Skagit Valley Hospital. She was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

Jackson, under investigation for DUI and vehicular homicide, was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
