The Vallejo Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday morning. The accident happened at around 4:51 p.m.
A woman driving a Dodge Charger felt as though she hit something as she was backing out of her driveway. When the 25-year-old woman got out of her car to investigate, she found that she had hit a 2-year-old girl, according to police.
The young victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries. The 2-year-old girl’s family friend was the driver, who stayed on the scene to help with the investigation, according to Vallejo police. Her identity is not yet known at this time.
According to the police, neither alcohol nor drugs seem to have played a role in this fatal crash.
