2-year-old child and 14-year-old teen hospitalized after an auto-pedestrian accident in Edmonds (Edmonds, WA)

A 2-year-old child and 14-year-old teen received injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Friday afternoon in Edmonds.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the 220th Street Southwest at 80th Avenue West at around 3:10 p.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian accident. The early reports showed that a family of four was crossing the road in the marked crosswalk when a car heading eastbound could not stop in time and struck the toddler and teen.

A 2-year-old sustained critical injuries while a 14-year-old suffered non-fatal injuries. Both were rushed to Harborview Medical Center. A 61-year-old driver from Mountlake Terrace stopped and cooperated with the investigators. The driver did not display any signs of impairment. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
