According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Thursday in Palmdale.
Officials confirmed that two people died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred at 100th Street East and East Avenue R.
A red compact SUV and a white pickup truck collided with one another.
Two young women inside the red car were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.
A utility pole and the power lines went down as a result of the accident.
No further details pertaining to the collision have been released yet.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
Avenue R was closed from 100th Street East to 102nd Street East pending investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
