2 women hurt, 1 hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident on Holland’s North Side (Holland Township, MI)

On Friday evening, one woman was taken to a hospital following a traffic collision at one of the area’s busiest intersections on Holland’s North Side.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the junction of Douglas Avenue and River Avenue just after 5 PM on reports of a two-vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that a westbound SUV on Douglas, driven by a 41-year-old Holland woman, tried to turn left onto southbound River.

The car went into the path of an eastbound vehicle, driven by a 28-year-old Holland woman, resulting in a crash. The two drivers involved, along with one of the two passengers in the westbound vehicle, a 54-year-old Comstock Park woman, incurred only minor ailments and sought their own treatment.

Another passenger in the westbound vehicle, a 71-year-old from the Manistee area, was rushed to Holland Hospital with non-fatal injuries. The identities of the injured victims have not been released at this time. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
