In a tragic series of events in Gardena on Sunday, two pedestrians were struck by vehicles in separate incidents, with one resulting in a fatality. At around 10:30 a.m., authorities responded to a report of an accident at the intersection of Marine and Budlong Avenues.
They found two pedestrians on the roadway, one of whom was pronounced dead at the pedestrian accident, while the other was rushed to the hospital. The driver involved fled the scene after colliding with both pedestrians in the crosswalk.
Earlier that morning, at 3:54 a.m., another fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and El Segundo Boulevard. A female driver struck a pedestrian, who later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The driver cooperated with authorities, remaining at the fatal crashes until their arrival.
