Tragedy struck on Wednesday, March 6, as two individuals were fatally struck while crossing a state highway in Hudspeth County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
The pedestrian accident led to the closure of all lanes on US 62/180 at mile marker 92, as reported by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Eastbound traffic is advised to exit at Route 1111 to Sierra Blanca, while westbound traffic is instructed to exit at US-54 to Van Horn.
The closure is expected to remain in effect until further notice, with the clearing time unspecified at present. As investigations continue, no additional information has been released regarding the circumstances of the tragic fatal crash.
