California Highway Patrol reported that on Saturday a multi-vehicle crash took place in Porterville that killed 2 people.
On Saturday, roughly at 4:00 p.m., a 28-year-old man driving a Nissan Sentra was driving north on Road 256, heading to Avenue 196. The vehicle then crashed into the right side of the Ford F-250 that was travelling eastbound on Avenue 196, heading towards Road 256. This led both vehicles to enter the intersection.
The passenger of the Nissan, a 38-year-old from Corcoran was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan with major injuries was transported to the hospital where he later died.
The identity of the victims is not disclosed yet. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated.
