According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Sutter County on Monday. The crash happened on Highway 20 at around 10:10 p.m.
According to the investigators, a Chevrolet pickup and a Chevrolet pickup were involved in the collision. The events leading up to the accident have not been reported at this time.
The officials stated that two people suffered significant injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. 25-year-old Maria Flores Soto and 16-month-old Andres Ambriz were identified as the dead victims.
According to the deputies, it is unclear what caused the crash and if drugs or alcohol were a factor involved. Additional information regarding the fatal crash is not available currently.
