The California Highway Patrol reported a three-vehicle accident on Sunday. The accident occurred on Interstate 15 in Pala Mesa at around 3:13 p.m.
According to the officials, a pickup truck was traveling on the road adjacent to southbound I-5 when it left the roadway and crashed through a fence. It entered the southbound lanes of traffic where it immediately collided with a Tesla and a black sedan.
The officials have reported that a woman and “a very young juvenile” had incurred fatal injuries in the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The identities of the victims are not yet known at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
