A fatal crash in West Houston on Sunday night claimed the lives of two individuals and left one hospitalized with injuries, prompting a police investigation. Authorities suspect speeding contributed to the collision between a black Toyota sedan and a grey Scion SUV around 8 p.m. on the 6300 block of Richmond Avenue near Greenridge Drive.
The SUV’s two adults were found deceased in the multi-vehicle accident, believed to be the mother of two children in the backseat and a relative. The children, aged five and ten, sustained minor injuries.
Investigators are reviewing video footage from nearby businesses and interviewing witnesses while seeking family members to care for the children. A DWI task force will engage with the hospitalized surviving driver to gather additional information.
