In a tragic multi-vehicle accident on Sunday, two people lost their lives in a head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver. The accident occurred on Interstate 10 East in east Harris County, as reported by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The wrong-way driver, heading west in the eastbound lanes, collided with another vehicle, resulting in both vehicles catching fire. The wrong-way driver and a passenger succumbed to their injuries. The other driver, who was seriously injured, was rushed to a local hospital for surgery.
As of now, the identities of the victims remain unknown, and authorities are still investigating the fatal crash. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
