The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 90 on Saturday. The officials confirmed that two people died in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victims were not identified.
Around 8:30 pm, the crash occurred on State Highway 124 through High Island and in the westbound lanes of FM 1985 at 8:30 p.m. A speeding vehicle crashed into a large tractor. This caused the vehicle to burst into flames.
Two people, later identified as passengers, died in the crash and a third person, later identified as the driver of the car, was able to get out. The driver was flown to a Houston hospital with serious injuries.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
