The Texas Department of Transportation, Austin reported a motor vehicle accident on Friday. The accident occurred on I-35 near McCarty Lane at around 8 a.m.
According to the officials, a tandem axel dump truck was headed north on the interstate when a tire blew out. The truck then crossed over all three lanes of traffic before hitting the concrete side wall.
The truck was carrying gravel which spilled out due to the force of the impact and hit another vehicle that was headed south.
The drivers of both vehicles were fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are not yet known at this time.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
