The Oceanside Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Friday.
The accident occurred on Oceanside Boulevard near State Tree Drive, just west of Interstate 5, at around 8:30 p.m.
According to the officials, two people struck by a vehicle.
The officers tried to perform first-aid but both pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene.
The officials have said that both pedestrians were not using the crosswalk when they were hit.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The officials have confirmed that alcohol and drugs did not play a role in the fatal accident.
They attribute the accident to nighttime conditions.
The crash is still being investigated.
