The Lodi Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Monday. The accident occurred in the area of Peterson Park at around 12:52 a.m.
According to the officials, two suspects were evading arrest when they fled from the police in a stolen vehicle. The vehicle lost control and crashed into a fence at Peterson Park.
The two suspects had to be extricated by the Lodi Fire Department and were critically injured. They succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the victims are not yet known at this time.
The officials have reported that the two suspects were initially reported as they were behaving in a suspicious manner. They have not confirmed whether the suspicions were well-founded. The fatal accident is still being investigated.
