The League City Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Sunday night. The accident occurred in the 500 block of Bay Area Boulevard, near FM 518 just after 10 p.m.
According to the officials, a single vehicle was involved in the collision. A Jeep was headed north on the highway when the driver lost control. This caused the vehicle to leave the road and then crash into a tree in the centre median.
Two people were present in the vehicle. Both were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased victims has not been disclosed at this time.
The cause of the fatal crash is still bieng investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
