Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a crash near the Texas-Mexico border on Wednesday, as reported by the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The motor vehicle accident occurred in Kinney County around 3 p.m.

According to DPS officials, law enforcement was in pursuit of a Dodge truck suspected of human smuggling when the vehicle lost control and crashed. The truck veered off the road and overturned, resulting in multiple ejections. 

Sadly, two men succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while three other occupants sustained critical injuries and were airlifted to nearby hospitals. Additionally, one individual fled from the fatal crash site, according to DPS officials. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
