Two individuals died in a fatal crash near Lake Edinburg, Texas when the vehicle plunged into a canal. Deputies responded to a distress call after two injured girls sought help from a resident.
The ATV, submerged in 2 to 3 feet of water, trapped two females, both aged 17 and 18. Despite life-saving efforts, they were pronounced dead at the hospital. Preliminary findings suggest the driver lost control, prompting the investigation.
An autopsy has been ordered for the deceased, and authorities emphasize caution in ATV operations. The motor vehicle accident occurred approximately 15 miles north of McAllen However, no drugs or alcohol were at the scene.
