The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident on Thursday in Collin County. The accident occurred at the intersection of County Road 543 and County Road 593 at around 10 a.m.
According to the officials, a Dodge Durango ran a stop sign at the intersection and was hit by a Dodge Caravan. The Caravan spun and was thrown off the road and into two construction workers.
One of the two pedestrians was fatally injured and killed. The other was not harmed. The deceased worker has been identified as 35-year-old Hilario Alvarado.
One of the passengers of the Durango was also fatally injured and killed. She has been identified as 65-year-old Rebecca Rigdon. The drivers of both vehicles were injured and taken to a hospital.
The fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. There are no other details available.
